Treatment


Phobia is real, serious and treatable. People with phobia can be helped with professional care. Success of treatment may depend on the individual who has it.
Treatment for phobia for other people may take after a few months, while others may take a year or more. This is starting to change with Energy Psychology. Many therapies use a combination of cognitive and behavior therapies often referred as CBT. The benefits of these types of therapies is that the patient learns recovery skills that are useful for a lifetime.

Relaxation Techniques
This helps individuals develop the ability to effectively cope with the stresses that contribute to phobia, as well as with some of the physical symptoms of phobia.
It includes here exercise and breathing re-training.

Hypnotherapy
It reprograms subconscious "programs" that may be part of phobia. When "de-bugged" the symptoms of phobia often are minimized. But, some people don't like the feeling of losing control in allowing someone else to play with their personal life. Plus, the art of hypnotherapists seems to vary widely.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
This is the study and practice of how we create our reality. From the NLP standpoint, phobia is the result of programs or "constructs" that we revealed and "re-programmed" so that the phobia is minimized and often eliminated. Usually the interventions are quite rapid and effective. Also it can be sometimes rather complex & difficult to use in self-help situations.
